You might want to look at something like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813185055

It won't be a screaming system, but with a 9800 pro it would be plenty to play source.

that would be nice, yet one problem still lyes. I have 3 gig of Mushkin PC3400 @ 400MHz ram. or something like that.

3 GB?  How many sticks of what size?  The package I showed should run at PC3200 w/o any issues.  The worst case is that it would run at PC2700 (333 MHz) which is not going to make a visible difference for you.  As long as it's DDR it would work.

oh...and if u do go the route of Imp's link, you could always put ur spare memory to good use....send it to ME!! hehe....

HAHAHA NO! or you guys could supply me with a generous birthday present.....heheh j/k. Oh and sorry 2GB. Its 2-1GB sticks. And if you read on the stats of that board it says it only supports PC2100.

True, it supports PC2100, not 2700 as I was remembering.  It still remains that you could use your current memory in there.  It will run at PC2100 just fine.  If you want to get back up and running fast, that's your best bet.  Otherwise, save up a couple hundred and you can make a very nice A64 system.
