I have finally been able to upgrade my computer to be able to undoubtedly run HL2/CSS. Since about last July, I have been runing a 1.3GB T-bird, in place of my NEW 2600+ because I crushed it by accident.

I have finally purchased a 2800+, which this time around is a Barton core.

I am going to be buying HL2 here shortly. I will be playing CSS at home on a regular basis which for time being is maybe 2 nights a week. This summer I am going to be playing a lot more due to there not being any school.

Just thought you guys might like to know where I've been or why I've been away.

Still havent bought HL2, I am trying to figure out what package I really want. I don't ned merchandise, but I want the option to play HL1:source.

Any recommendations?

I bought the package with HL:1 source and I wasn't pleased.  HL1: source looks worse than opposing force or blue shift - they used the original low texture models.  They also added zero, I repeat, zero physics to the game.  Just get the base package with hl2 and cs:s.

Next week, I am going on vaca from Sun to Sat. I will be travelling back to Rhode Island to catch up with some of my High School friends.

I will pick it up that Thursday or Friday. I'd like to see some of you guys playing on Friday night, because I will undoubtedly have it by then.

Is Steam Friends stable yet, or does it still crap out unexpectedly?

Also, if someone could make a list of things I am going to have to download once I get HL@ installed, like Blitz said get the deathmatch mod. Please post the links, and I will see to getting a CS:Source link page to the patches and apps.

I know I will enjoy coming back, as I have in the past. I want SK to be a force to not be reckoned with as it was back in the day. I understand that some of us may have gotten lost or uninterested since say, Xmas or before, I just want to rally the remainders to see what we've still got as a team, regardless of having Source or not.
