Where can I get my lil sis' laptop monitor fixed for a decent price? coz I ran over her laptop accidentally... the laptop works fine except for the monitor being busted. best buy is charging like $600 to have the monitor fixed ...  bastages.... anywayz, I really appreciate any help on this coz i feel bad for my sis

well for starters, what brand/make/mosel laptop is it? And what size screen?

the only way to replace it without spending the money on a new laptop, you will want to order the screen, it is not that hard to replace it and im sooo sure you could just smile at a fella and they would do the job for free.

My brother swapped LCDs on a laptop, and he's really a hardware noob, I actually came across the same model as his at work and they were junking it. He was able to figure it out just fine.

ok it is a Gateway 6020GZ (12" monitor I think)...
so if she gets the monitor, does it have any instructions on how to put it on?

Yas, here is the bad news.  the new screed will likely cost you as much as a new laptop.  now the good news.  they are easy as cake to swap, and you can sometimes find the one you need on ebay for $100-250

no, instructions are unlikely.  however it is pretty simple.  you unsrew the screws holding the monitor to the laptop, then remove the bezel (plastic frame) change the guts, and snap it back together, then screw the screws back in and voila... your done.

int lighter news, you can hook it up to a regular monitor and have a powerful ass "leet" keyboard......
