power supply whoes.

my moms computer that im currently re assembling, right? every one remember? ok, well she got a P/S for it and the main board plug on the ps is WAY off. its too wide and it has two funky little connectors on each side. anyone know what its called? cause thats the last thing that is needed for her computer to be back running. it says its an ATX power supply but it wont fit an ATX board. HELP!!!

Without getting technical, you can remove the extra 4 pins on the connector. If her motherboard is standard ATX, you will be all set. Notice that on one end of the PSU connector there are notches at one end. You should be able to slide those 4 pins off and then connect the rest of it to the motherboard, leaving the 4 dangling. Keep an eye out for another 4-pin connector on the motherboard, and note that it might require either these 4-pins that you can disconnect or an entirely different 4-pin connector from the PSU.
