If your RAM sticks are new, definitely test them (I forget the tool to use, memcheck?).

Cooling could be the issue too. I have a temperature gauge (mobo software and case sensor) to watch that.

It could also be a power issue with your PSU. Those are probably the 3 most likely culprits. Is it only rebooting during RVS? Try some other CPU/mem intensive apps and see what happens. It could still be a crazy software bug.

Nightbane

well, it didnt do it under SWG. and then it couldnt have been a cooling issue, cause i only had my CPU fan up to 3k rpm. and it goes to 6k.

Yes, if your mem is brand new, test it.....  go download "memtest86" and run the mem testing for an hour or two (longer if you can) and watch for errors.

However, what this sounds like is the Windows XP reboot on blue screen thing.  You need to disable this feature so that, when the blue screen appears, it actually stays on screen so you can see what Windows is having a problem with.  To disable this feature:

1 - Right-click on My Computer and select Properties.
2 - In the properties screen, select the Advanced tab.
3 - In the advanced tab, click the Startup & Recovery button.
4 - In the S & R window, uncheck the box for automatically reboot (under system failures).
5 - Click OK in the S & R window and in the system properties window.
6 - Restart if it asks you to (don't remember if its needed or not).

Following this change, it will be necessary to manually power cycle your machine when it crashes, but it will allow you to see the blue screen, which should specify (near the top of the screen) what it was that caused Windows to puke.

Could also be drivers for any of your current hardware.  I'm sure you've done this already, but verify you've got all the latest stuff (chipset, video, audio, etc).

It could also be that some driver is, in fact, too new for the engine that runs RvS.  Could also try rolling back your video driver to an earlier version.  It wouldn't be the first time that I've heard of an ATI driver problem that gets corrected by rolling back to the last version of catalyst.....

Anywho, I gots myself some work to do, so I'll catchya later...
